MeCanMED, a global supplier supporting over 5,000 hospitals and clinics worldwide, marked its presence at the African Health Conference and Exhibition, Nigeria’s premier healthcare entrepreneurship event, held in Port Harcourt.
As the largest gathering of healthcare professionals, distributors, and manufacturers in West Africa, the expo provided MeCanMED with a strategic platform to showcase its innovative products, forge partnerships, and align with Nigeria’s urgent healthcare modernization goals.
Organized by Afri-Healthcare Consultants under the Divine Health and Good Society Foundation, the African Health Conference and Exhibition has driven advancements in Nigeria’s medical sector since 2016. The 2024 edition brought together over 1,000 professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, hospital administrators, and government representatives, with support from key institutions such as: Federal and State Ministries of Health, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
The three-day event combined exhibitions, medical lectures and medical skills training, including ultrasound training, emergency clinical skills courses and hospital management seminars.
The annual gathering organized by Afri-Healthcare Consultants serves as critical marketplace for:
✅ Federal Ministry of Health
✅ Rivers State Primary Healthcare Board
✅ Nigerian Medical Association
As an exhibitor, MeCanMED leveraged the expo’s dual focus on innovation and entrepreneurship to highlight its mission of “Making the World Better.” Key activities included:
Portable X-Ray Systems: The MX-DR080C13, an 8KW portable DR unit, drew significant attention for its mobility and 10.4-inch touchscreen interface.
Patient Monitors: Displayed MCS0022 and MCS0028 models, emphasizing adaptability to Nigeria’s power challenges.
MeCanMED engineers conducted live demonstrations on equipment maintenance and emergency diagnostics, aligning with expo themes like “Patient-Centered Care” and “Hospital Management.”
MeCanMED donated three large patient monitors at the show. One was donated to the Rivers State Government through the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, and two were donated to two private hospitals in Port Harcourt through the African Health Expo.
During the expo, Andy Miao, the boss of MeCanMED, participated in an exclusive interview with Rivers State Television (RSTV), broadcast nationally. Key statements included:
Market Commitment: “Africa’s healthcare challenges demand localized solutions. Our portable X-ray systems and monitors are engineered for Nigeria’s infrastructure realities.”
Social Responsibility: “Profitability must coexist with community impact. Our donation of three monitors to Rivers State reflects this balance.”
The coverage amplified MeCanMED’s visibility among policymakers and healthcare providers, reinforcing its reputation as a solutions-driven partner.
Guangzhou MeCan Medical ltd. one of the Chinese Companies at the Port-Harcourt AfriHealth Conferences and Exhibitions sold most of the items they brought to Port-Harcourt.
Healthcare Providers and Entrepreneurs at the event used the opportunity to buy Hospital and Laboratory Equipment from a top manufacturer and other Exhibitors at discounted rates. Plan to attend our events in Lagos and Abuja to Connect, Discover and Purchase Original and Quality Hospital and Laboratory Equipments from top Manufacturers and Distributors.
MeCanMED solidified its position as a catalyst for equitable healthcare solutions during its strategic participation in the 2024 AfriHealth Expo. By aligning product development with Nigeria’s priorities—portability, power resilience, and training—the company demonstrated how technology can drive equitable care. As Andy Miao noted in his RSTV interview: “Every ambulance equipped with our X-ray system, every clinic using our monitors, brings us closer to a healthier Africa.” With sustained engagement across the continent, MeCanMED continues to transform its mission into measurable impact.
